Trust is a powerful thing, and some people take it for granted.  Why is it that some people automatically assume that you should trust them?  It always seems like the people who assume that they deserve your trust that lie the most, but call it “leaving out part of the story.”  How can someone think that you should trust them, when they don’t trust you?

When you do trust someone you can open yourself up for all sorts of troubles and hurt….but it can also be a wonderful security, knowing that there is someone you can trust.  Someone who you can believe.  Someone who is always going to be upfront and tell you the truth.  It’s nice knowing that someone cares enough for you to be able to trust them.

Trusting someone can bring a wonderful sense of peace, a feeling of knowing that they wont ever try to hurt you, that you don’t have to worry about them hiding anything, and you don’t have to doubt what they say.

There are few people in my life that I have ever been able to trust, but I am thankful for those people.  I hope everyone has at least one person they can trust.  I think I want to trust more people but have experienced too many lies to do so.
