Thank you for so bluntly putting my thoughts on the younger generation. As you say, generation after generation seems to always have a distain for the next group below them. I wonder if this dislike is justified or not? Are really on a continual slippery slope, or are we just set in our ways and unopened to change? What is it about the younger generation that makes us role our eyes and send up a prayer?

our poor stupid children are growing up in a world with iPods and no common sense. They don't understand actions and consequences. I do understand that, historically, every generation hates their younger siblings. But as a member of deGenerationX - the slacker Gen - I must admit that we've outdone ourselves in successfully setting this newest crop of kids up for failure. These are the kids who cite wikipedia in their research papers and completely miss the irony (maybe my buddy B-Buf can explain the significance of THAT. They can't even be bothered to drop txt-speak long enough to complete an assignment. Most of them are less than 18 years younger than their parents - which should be considered problem and isnt. We slackers have built a huge, powerfully connected world. We've also squeezed out some really fucked up, lazy-ass kids. We overcame our basal apathy towards the world and society as a whole and did some great things. And it's all gonna be left to some moron currently sitting in ISS. If your kid is the kid listening to an iPod, talking on an iPhone while cutting class - you're the shitty parent i'm waxing antipathetic about.

My father was a retired Marine Corps veteran of foreign wars. He died before his elected officials justified torture. All I can ask is that I die before the next black president is a idiot-non-savant, who reads on a 10th grade level with an applied associates degree from some community college. woe be unto us all.
