Fading Strength

Strength crumbling before your eyes

Watching it dissipate and run through your fingers

Trying to pull it up, not finding it within

Summons are failing no matter how hard you try

Can’t keep going, not strong enough to walk through

Not strong enough to stop the flood gate holding back the emotions

Trying to hang on, but feel the fingers slipping

The grasp failing and fingers scrambling for the edge

Not wanting to drown in the reality you’ve been avoiding

The breath comes only into choking sobs

Tears that refuse to obey your orders of resistance

All the lack of strength, life wearing you down

Balanced

Wobbly legs that crisscross across the water

Slippery water turned to sleek and slick ice.

Shaking arms out for supported footing

Placing one foot in front of the other

Feeling as if you’re on a tightrope

You walk through life

Tip Toeing around

Scissoring legs try to straighten themselves

Resisting the urge to give up and crawl

Continuing to hold your head up

Confidence does a lot for balance

Balanced for a moment

Looking on watching to see if they will make it

Wanting to come to their side

and hold their hand

Unwilling

Unable

Looking on, knowing that it’s your turn to stumble next

You hope for balance in your life

An unwavering hand to guide you

Give you what you lack

Give you want you want

Not just looking

Walking

Rushing

Rushing through life sometimes with no visible end

Just moving from one thing to the next

Not knowing when we’ll stop or what we’re moving towards

Rushing along not know what’s in store, what will happen next?

Only seeing two steps ahead and blindly traveling the rest

Not knowing if it will be an easy downhill journey or a cliff that will bring us crashing down

Tumbling through the darkened night

Continuing to move ahead full force

Not able to stop and look around

Figure it out later, but press on for now

Can’t stop, Can’t slow down, Can only rush ahead.

Walls Crumbling

A brick wall crumbles down as the waves of ambiguity break their caps

The flashes of white caps gain speed as their precision of aim grows apparent

The cold bricks brought down by the forces of nature

Natural fury that builds up until the growing coals that have been simmering erupt into a fire of passion

Passionate fury that explodes against the building blocks that lie on the bank

The high cold wall that moss attempts to cover, getting into the crevices

Weakening the mortar that that waves will soon crush

As the monsoon of life hits hard against the protective barriers that we have built up

One by one the bricks are torn down until the bottom gives out

And the wall crumbles down

Looking at the pile of ruble, what do you see?

A mess….a tattered beauty…..a waste…..what it use to be…what it could have been…

The beautiful remnants that lay in a disconnected heap at the water’s age

Nature’s true power and efficiency shine through as they crash into man’s week attempt to mimic what would come naturally

Or what shouldn’t be there, going against nature only infuriates the true master

Fighting the path of life, going down whatever road or over whatever hill we see

Only leads to natural disasters, your attempts at craftsmanship end up crumbling

Lost and alone in front of the chaotic compound of hopes in disarray

The persistent water rejoices at its victory.

Passionate Shadows

True Passion crouches in the shadows of desire

Knowing revelation can’t be possible

Darkness is the safety vest

Hidden away from the light of hypocrisy

Life ticks on by as you crawl against the wall

Hidden from existence, except in secret whispers

The most heart filling whispers that make your body quiver

The heated moments that live on in the dreams of the wearer

The closet tucked inside the hidden subject

The passion wells up inside the skin

It wont let go until it explodes….

Drifting off just before the light barrier.

Horizon

Floating on the horizon

Not sure how to hit solid ground

Not sure if you want to

You float

Skimming the surface with tip toes

You look down amazed

The golden colors that shoot from around the sun

The brightness fills you with happiness

The clouds are forgotten and turned into trim

Accent on the beauty of the evening

As the daylight closes in,

You are drawn towards the meeting at the horizon

The meeting of the lights just before the dark

The worlds of sun and earth collide.

So much to take in and breathe.

Bridges

Bridges you cross

Bridges you burn

Nobody knows where they lead

Can’t see the other side through the fog

The sunset is beautiful and distracting

The beautiful back drop of nature

Makes you forget the fall

The Unsuccessful crossing

The bridge in suspension

Above the sparkling waters

In front of the horizon

You stare at the silhouette

Wondering if you can use it

Wondering if you can cross

What if it falls behind you

Then you can only go forward

What if you find a hole and can’t get across

Trapped in the middle of indecision

Rising up above the rail and looking down

Wondering if it’s the only way out

Looking at the beauty of the sunset

And the calmness of the water

Not able to enter either side

Blank

A clean sheet of paper floating in the wind

Brought down and tossed back up

The wings of the fairies dance around the purity

Light shines in rays of brightness through the trees

The open field is a playground

A dancing parade for the emptiness

Not knowing where to go, trapped in the beauty

The moment of nothing

No worries, no pressing matters

Lost in the light of the day

Nothing good, nothing bad

Just peace

The Unavoidable Option
icon1 cnj222 | icon2 Life, poetry | icon4 01 22nd, 2010| icon3No Comments »

Sleepiness washing over you like a tidal wave of hopes and dreams
A crashing blow that brings you down
Or a gentle rocking that can put you out
Weariness that is inside your soul as you move forward
Avoiding sleep, without a choice
Pressing on you hear the voice
Calling to you with a sweet lullaby
Nodding your head you stand up to make the effort
Making a move so you don’t stop in your tracks
Your head steadily falls
Eyelids closing gently but forcefully
You can’t go on and fight the dream
You can only submit to the power of nature
The human body and its design
Come crashing down into your reality
Knowing you need to move and can’t
Knowing something must be done
Sleep is the only option now

The wind blows gently along the tops of the trees

Like a whisper in the ear, it gently passes not leaving a trace

Simply an impression

You wonder if it’s real, if it really happened

Did you just imagine or is it revealed?

Thinking too hard about what you can’t prove

What you can’t be sure of…

The hidden untruths

Lie deep within the unread rules

The gaps between the lines that you can’t write on

Something that is there but unseen

So many things in life

So many unseen futures

No where to turn where there isn’t a reckoning

It doesn’t matter if the glass is half full if it never comes off the shelf

Leave the things you know to yourself

Or fight through all of the unrecoverable facts

Thinking, breathing, living
