Rain drops drumming down on the rooftop

The rhythm matching feelings of the day

Fast, slow, happy, sad, depressed, neutral

All a flood of emotions that over flowed throughout the day

Listen to the calming sound thumping down from above you

In the warm embrace of the candle light you sit and watch

Listening and watching the storm outside, enjoying the cozy feeling

The feeling that the coat of rain makes as you listen to it come down around you

Not able to touch you the music flows through the strength of the storm

Everyone watches from the windows or under the coverings

Listening and playing along with the beat of the storm in your mind

I stumble as I walk through the dimly lit maze, another turn. Focusing on the torch light up ahead I keep moving. Frustrated at all of the breakthroughs and stumbles. Looking each way from the center. Going Left or Going Right….how am I to know? I hear something so I move in the opposite direction. Lost among the massive passages. Continuing to move out of sight. Continuing to move without a map. I wonder how long I’ve been walking. I’m starting to ache. No time to slow down. No time to look first. Keep walking, round and round, this way and that. Lost in the dim light of the tunnel. What was that?……Was something there, or just a shadow jumping up and down on the wall? Did something move down there? Taking the torch off the wall I continue to move. Keeping close to the wall, I wonder what will happen next. I wonder if I will ever get out.

Vibrant Changing colors all around us

The right gold, read, and orange hanging above our heads

Looking up to the brightness of the sky and seeing the rainbow of the tree

Reminds me that it’s my favorite time of the year

Fall brings a certain sort of peace and easiness

A breathe of fresh air after the summer heat gets done cooking the earth

Enjoying the crisp air when you walk outside or leave the windows open is one of the most pleasurable things there can be

But seeing the trees change to a different color, and have it be perfectly natural, is something very special

Right now it’s spring and the blue of the clouds followed by the bright sunny day is beautiful…

But then the nights grow cold and the wind is chilly, the rain drops fall

The flowers are blooming and coming into the glory of the sunshine during the day,

but sometimes wither away at night

Spring is a tricky time, but another time of change and colors blooming all around you

Rainbows and thunderstorms, filled with illuminant blasts of lighting across the sky

The changing of colors, fall or spring, fill you with the blessing of change.

The invisible girl at the end of the counter

Waiting again, she sighs and stirs the coffee

Waiting in the shadows alone

Waiting to be seen, but not willing to step out

Knowing there is more out there but feeling trapped

Having memorized the fairytale

Waiting for the magic transformation

Sitting with another bruise and sunglasses

Sitting with as much hurt on the inside

Wanting him to walk in and find her

But dreading the discovery at the same time

Invisible….is the thought

Invisible is the best way

The white bleakness blurs the window as you try to peer outside

The sunny south today, is nothing but a lie

Putting all hopes of the sun coming out aside

Not knowing how to proceed, not being able to leave

Stuck inside and alone, the gray sky all you can see

Sitting down with a movie and a cup of tea

Trying to cheer up and enjoy the time off

Pulling the pillow close and embracing how soft

The boredom growing tough

All alone and nothing but the white fuzz outside

Nobody coming by

Nobody would even try

Too dangerous on these unknown roads

People not use to the ice and the cold

Going out is only for the bold

Being safe and keeping warm

Nothing today is true to form

Who could have saw this storm?

Stepping back through the looking glass

Alice got slapped in the face with the harshness of reality

As she spun around to get back in, the door was closed, and rejection set in

Stuck in a cruel world without an escape, knowing something more fanciful is out there

Knowing that there is another place where the impossible becomes reality

By a simple change of perspective as the reflection is reversed

Stepping behind the glass and into a world of imagination

Holding fast to the untrue beliefs that got her this far

Everything became upside down and backwards, in a whirlwind of disbelief

But stuck in the middle of the new reality of the unreal

Wanting nothing more but to get back into the world of make believe

A world where anything you wanted could happen

She pounded on the glass, begging to come back to the strange world with stranger ways

She yelled and hollered for them to let her back in…..but nothing happened

Realizing it was useless, she turned to face the facts

Facts that a few minutes ago were ridiculous and easily proved wrong, now governed her again

Wishing she were back, but accepting that she’s not, she walked on

Into the world of rules and reality, where the perspective is back tot he straight and the narrow

The confusion and the silence set in, but she is back into her world and can never step back over again.

Does there need to be a definition of something for it to be a real thing? If you were to ask something their definition of happiness, you might get a different definition every time…so much of an emotion or some non-tangable thing depends on the perspective of the person who is experiencing it. Everyone has their own past and present that they bring to the table when they experience something new….Two people can be at the same event at the same time, standing right next to each other, and report two completely different things depending on what they saw through their own eyes…

Does that mean that the non-tangable things like happiness, sadness, anger, faith, etc. are not real things? If there is no definition that will work for everyone, can it be a real thing, or something that just floats around in our subconscious or out there in the universe somewhere waiting to be experienced by every individual person so that everyone can decide for themselves what exactly each thing is or should be defined as. So, if the definition isn’t solid, does that mean we can’t believe these things exist?

I don’t think so, I think there can be a general understanding of something without an actual definition; however, if you start asking people to give a definition to these complicated feelings and concepts, you will only run into more questions. What is happiness – anything that makes you feel good - well then what is good? And so on and so on.

Is the definition what makes something real, or is the simple general knowledge what makes it real, and or gives it character among the living?

It’s crazy where some people can pick up inspiration. Sometimes it can come from a word or a picture or a vision or a dream….there are many reasons why people pursue the things that they do. I think that half of the time people may feel inspired and may not even know what caused it, they just feel compelled. I also think that a lot of the time we don’t understand our own inspiration, we know where it came from, we just might not understand the complete connection. Some things can take themselves and evolve in a person’s mind until they become something completely different and hold just a sliver of the original thing. Where as some people take inspiration in the other direction, the direction of copy cat. Those people don’t seem to have very much imagination. Some people leave part of the original but put a whole new spin on it. I enjoy reading these types of things, many of these things generally end in mockery of the original, and can be very funny.

I enjoy getting inspiration from all sorts of different places. Maybe a story I read, or something that happens in life, or maybe just a beautiful site in nature or a picture that I find stumbling around the internet. I never know where a moment of inspiration will take me, I just start thinking and writing, or just thinking if it’s an inconvenient time to write it all down. None the less, it’s always interesting even if I can’t understand what exactly stroked the fire that made me go down the path of thoughts that I did….or the events that evolved in my head.

Dreams are like time, nobody really knows what they are…or how they are made. There are a lot of theories, but nobody really knows the truth. I think it would be wonderful to know how to acknowledge a dream and then have control throughout it, living it as if it was real until I woke up. I wish I had that kind of power over my dreams, but I’ve only realized I was dreaming a very few times and that caused me to wake up, except for one time that I can remember. How wonderful would it be to have a separate reality, where anything is possible? Where you could fly, change the background, go any place you want and try anything that may or may not be possible in the real world.

I think that it would be an amazing time to be able to dream up a world and to share that world with the people that you actually like to have around without the annoyance of the others. You could have whatever animals around that you want, or be completely animal free if you aren’t an animal person…..anything would be possible. Different colors everywhere, games, movies, whatever you like.

The movie Inception, perks a lot of interesting concepts about dreaming and controlling not only your own dreams, but influencing the dreams of others. I think it would be amazing to be able to share a dream world. To be able to create a world and invite people in, I have seen things like it with virtual worlds for online chatrooms where you design your own areas and everything, but how amazing would it be to feel like you were really there. For everything to feel real and be a memory like a real experience would be.

Would the memory of a dream be of more or less worth than that of a real life experience?

What is it about certain legends that make them stay alive generation after generation, never dying out into nothingness? Why is it that it seems everyone knows some stories, people who seem to know nothing of the news today still know of legends that supposedly took place hundreds and hundreds of years ago. What is it that intrigues us about stories like Arthur and Camelot? Some legends are fairly recently, like all of the tales of the wild, wild west, but yet most people still want to hear the stories and tell the stories year after year, either to each other or are seen in movies and books…but they stay alive in some way. Even though legends have been created right along with America, it still seems that the old legends from so long ago are the ones that survive. Legends may alter and spins put on them at times, but still, they stay alive in the minds of generation after generation. What is it that makes us want to keep believing, or at least keep honoring by retelling the stories from so long ago?
