I was browsing the internet the other day and ran across this website http://www.donothingfor2minutes.com/ Now, what’s interesting about this website is that it exists at all. If you go to this website, it challenges you to do nothing but relax for two minutes, and there is a clock that counts down. I would really like to know how many times people fail before they get to the end of their two minutes. It’s not even like the computer would know if you did things that didn’t involve the computer, but I am willing to bet that most people cannot just sit there and listen to the soothing wave soundtrack they have playing on the site for two minutes without touching the keyboard or mouse.

I really think that we have gotten to the point where we are always multitasking or on the move in our society. I am torn between thinking that is a good thing or a bad thing. But if you think about it, I think it is pretty true for almost everyone I know. We are either watching tv while we work, or listening to music AND talking on the phone AND driving AND drinking coffee. How often do we just take the time to relax, or even just do one thing at a time any more?

Vibrant Changing colors all around us

The right gold, read, and orange hanging above our heads

Looking up to the brightness of the sky and seeing the rainbow of the tree

Reminds me that it’s my favorite time of the year

Fall brings a certain sort of peace and easiness

A breathe of fresh air after the summer heat gets done cooking the earth

Enjoying the crisp air when you walk outside or leave the windows open is one of the most pleasurable things there can be

But seeing the trees change to a different color, and have it be perfectly natural, is something very special

Right now it’s spring and the blue of the clouds followed by the bright sunny day is beautiful…

But then the nights grow cold and the wind is chilly, the rain drops fall

The flowers are blooming and coming into the glory of the sunshine during the day,

but sometimes wither away at night

Spring is a tricky time, but another time of change and colors blooming all around you

Rainbows and thunderstorms, filled with illuminant blasts of lighting across the sky

The changing of colors, fall or spring, fill you with the blessing of change.

A peek at spring was here today

Warm weather and loving the idle strip tease

The snow is gone, the grass and trees bare to the sun that shines

The sun shining down on us, reminding us of what will be here soon

Trying to remember the sun, heat and green grass

We see some of it today and hope the freeze over will not come again

Is it a tease without touching? Or is it there to stay for the season?

Can we expect the same tomorrow, or was it a one day offering?

A pleasant reminder or a tease?

Leaving you to wait for the whole pleasure

We wait wondering if we can stand the drastic change and backward motion

Can we bare to see the winter wind come back and the isolation set back in around the tree that appears dead?

Or can we wait to see the green grass spring up and the leaves sprout out to fully enjoy the warmth?

The weather is changing but so are the people around you, never knowing where things are going or what you’re going to get. You keep on moving because it’s all you can do, move forward one step at a time and look around to see who’s with you on your journey in this world. Not know if there is another you watch as the grass dies and the leaves change. The temperature rises and falls. Walking down the path as the leaves drift past you in their spiraling downward fall to the ground of the path that we walk along. Walking on the fresh crunch of the leaves makes you wonder what will happen to you when you fall down and hear the rushing past you on the ground, not even taking notice of what’s there and what’s not. People walking by and you feel like you’re in an invisible haze that isn’t seen by anyone else. Everyone so intent on their plans that they can’t stop to take a look around, can’t stop to notice the change that is happening right in front of them, in this world that they are a part of and yet are so easily disconnected from. Walking along you see the two paths collide with the beauty of the changing fall, not wanting to stumble you take your time…reaching out to your side for another hand you find the one who came along, maybe not the person that you thought but someone who cared enough to notice that you were wandering away in the midst of all of this change. The challenge of acceptance is among us as the weather tries to make up its mind, plunging around to confuse all of those caught up in the heat and the rush to those that are freezing and dying at night. Walking along in this seasonal change, I have to wonder if I’m the only one that notices the yellow that use to be green.

Vacation is a wonderful thing, able to relax and enjoy the time you have and the days of leisure…but all good things come to an end, and sometimes that end is brought about by too much of a good thing. Sometimes the people that you spend the time with and look forward to…start to get a little bit annoying, as I’m sure you do to them. Mannerism become apparent and repetitive, and sooner or later, too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing.

Vacation can be a good thing and can be a nice relaxing trip, but sooner or later reality kicks in and you have to back to work and to the every day life. Sometimes going back is a welcomed change, or some parts are and some parts aren’t. The welcomed parts can be the safety of a routine or the people that you miss seeing. I don’t know many people that enjoy returning to work. Sometimes at the end of a group trip, what you really want is a day or two to catch your breath. Sometimes a vacation is more stressful than the every day life, but there are highlights, and good times, and good memories. Just don’t let them build up past their welcome.

It is so nice to feel like spring is on its way. I don’t know what it is about this time of the year but the weather is nice, you can actually get sunshine in your windows, it’s daylight longer during the day. This season of birth and change is a wonderful time of the year for me. I think that there is something about it that makes me feel like it’s time to get some things done as well. Spring gives me hope that things are going to come together after all.

It seems like even though we think of spring as a season for animals to be born and the weather to get nicer and the flowers to bloom; it seems like people also go through something at spring time. I’ve noticed more people smiling, I’ve noticed more babies being born, it just seems different. I don’t know if it’s the nice weather or what it is, but I do enjoy seeing the changes all over.

I’m not sure where the younger generation is headed, but it doesn’t look good. Legislators keep trying to increase the curriculum and make everything look good on paper, but what it’s actually doing is forcing kids to give up. No child left behind is plowing students over by trying to make them keep up with some made up standards by politicians that have never been inside a classroom, other than as a student. I saw in the news that another student brought another gun to school….I think that it is so sad that we have to worry about such things. As always the comments on the article were much more interesting that the article itself…people say all sorts of things from where are the parents, to that school is for the trash of the district anyway…Even if it is an alternative school how can we possible call children trash….Schools have a lot of issues these days and it scares me to think that these are the people of the generation that are suppose to be running things in the future. If we don’t get it together and start worrying about the right issues I don’t understand how we expect improvements. What good are nice looking standardized test scores in the records office if children are running around on the streets or bringing the streets to the schools. I don’t think that we realize all of the time what kind of issues are in the homes for the young people today, but I also don’t think that we should be making excuses for anyone, I think that the first step to having any real improvement is to hold people responsible for their own actions.

It is strange how the smallest thing can make a wall collapse. I think that people are like that too. When emotions cause hairline fractures in our soul, confidence, mind, and heart, it only takes the smallest amount of force to break a person.

It could be something so mall that any other time it wouldn’t have been a big deal, but as you hear about it, everything else associated with anything or anyone involved in the situation rises to the top and comes pouring out in your words, emotions, and tears. A full collapse of the strong facade.

Tears run down your cheek and a sort of self hate rises up as you can no longer control your emotions and keep them hidden from view. It only takes a pin hole in a balloon and it only takes one moment for a person.

Collapse of the world around you can happen so quickly, everything that you knew to be true can change in a heartbeat. I guess that is life….always changing, never knowing.

What happens when the followers become the leaders? Ever heard the phrase, too many Chiefs and not enough Indians? It seems to be the way some things are working these days. Everyone wants to be in charge and feel the power, move up on the ladder so to speak. With everyone grasping for the power stick, a chance to get behind the wheel, people forget to do their own job, fill the position they are already in….

Why is it that people spend so much time trying to prove themselves that they look plain stupid because they look like they aren’t even capable of doing the position that they are already suppose to be doing. They try to increase their position by sabotaging those around them, or by stepping on toes and trying to do jobs that belong to other people.

I don’t understand people that don’t want to go through the proper channels of things, who can’t simply feel good about doing a good days work and know that they are doing the best they can at what they are suppose to be doing. Instead they are fighting for something that might not even be in the cards for them ever, much less right then at that moment. Just because they want to skip steps to get to the top of the pyramid faster, doesn’t mean that it’s right.

The struggle in the game of tug-a-war played by the adults of our society is obvious…and annoying. Sometimes the adults I observe act more like children than the kids I know….you want to tell them to stop trying to grow up so fast and enjoy what they have while they have it…because when you get to the top you might be disappointed with the view.
