Do you ever feel like everyone is laughing and you don’t know why, or just the opposite, that you just said something very clever that NOBODY else in the room understands? Inside jokes are an interesting thing, it always make somebody feel like they are out of the loop and generally they can’t even be explained to the people properly who weren’t there when they originated, because it just isn’t as funny in the retelling. But it always seems like once you get somebody that gets it and is in on it with you, you can go back and forth for a very long time. Sometimes it’s just something as simple as if they’ve seen the movie that you’re referencing and sometimes as complicated as one of those LONG nights that just didn’t seem to end, and turns into 20 different stories by the next day.

A lot of the time, I think some people take inside jokes too seriously, not that I haven’t been that person that didn’t know why everyone was laughing except me, but it’s nothing to get offended over. Most people have inside jokes and have left other people out of the loop at one time or another. It’s not done to be nasty, but it does happen.

Personally, I love it when I can go back and forth referencing something with someone. I find it entertaining. And it’s funny how you can work in lines from movies or commercials into random conversations that really have nothing to do with the original context of the lines.

It’s funny how we get use to things sometimes….and yet fight other things until the bitter death, maybe we never get used to it. You can be an addict to all sorts of things that people don’t realize. You can even be an addict to routine, especially when you find a routine that you like, feel comfortable in, or just find that it makes you feel better. What is it about some changes that seem so natural and maybe even necessary, but other changes are just met with dispute, anger, frustration….

It’s crazy how good some little things can make you feel. Something as simple as being able to talk to someone every day to start off the day; for some people it’s as simple as a cup of coffee to start off their day. Everyone has their own comforts in life, some of us settle for the small comforts in life and are satisfied with the happiness that it brings to us. Others need material things, expensive things in order to be happy. For some people it’s control, they need to be in control of every situation around them, they need to feel powerful in order to be happy.

I think it’s pretty amazing how most people I know fall into a pattern and then don’t quite feel right if that routine is broken for any reason that they didn’t see coming. We are creatures of habit, no matter how much some people want to deny it, I still believe it’s true. I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a routine you are comfortable with. Life is too short to go around miserable, if you find something that makes you happy, you should stick with it, not deny yourself because you feel like you’re getting too set in your ways. I think a lot of the happiness just comes from knowing what to expect for the day. I think it makes people comfortable to know what is going on, and nervous and tense when they don’t have something set up for the day.

Do soulmates exist? I did not always believe so. I changed my mind in high school and it has been recently reinforced. In high school I had a teacher that spoke of his wife with such love and passion I couldn’t help but believe in soul-mates. Sometimes we would find ourselves listening to his stories and just staring at the wedding ring he still wore at all times, although his wife had been deceased for five years at that point. He never stopped loving her.

Although I believe that there can only be one soul-mate for a person, I do believe that there maybe more than one person in the world that could make you happy. I think that is why some people can have a good marriage and life, but still meet the person of their dreams later. Sometimes you can meet the perfect person for you…after you are already committed to someone you feel you can be content with for the rest of your life. I believe a soul-mate is something more than just someone you are happy/content with.

I believe a soul-mate is someone you are connected with…someone you relate to on all levels. Someone you can have deep discussions with, cuddle on the couch and watch a thriller or a stupid comedy (which ever you were in the mood for), of course there would need to be a sexual connection for the relationship to work. I believe that soul-mates enjoy each other’s company but know when they need their space. I also believe that at times it can completely catch you off guard.

What if you find your soul-mate after you have your life set up and everything is going well….do you change everything to have your true love in your life? Or do you stick with what you know is working……Sometimes you find someone who will make you moderately happy…and sometimes you can find someone perfect for you. It’s up to you if you let the opportunity pass you by or not.
