The largest meaning can come from the smallest word, or a simple look, or the slightest change in tone….It’s amazing how much we can read into the words and actions of others, even when, at times there is nothing to read into, it was a simple statement to that person, but to you, it changed your whole perspective.

It’s crazy how some words hold such value to you, while another person just throws them away or uses them without spare. How some words knock you down while holding another person up, maybe simply hearing them called that is what causes the conflict…..Words and body language are powerful tools, and deadly weapons, at least deadly in an emotional war.

Verbal and emotional wars happen all over, all the time, between all sorts of people. Some of the things people say can really hurt and sting, or smolder until you think you’re going to go crazy if you don’t talk about it…what’s funny is that sometimes they don’t even know that they hold that kind of power. A person who loves you and who you love and trust can really break you down with a simple word or phrase; or the lack of a phrase or kiss, or a change in body language towards you….It’s amazing how all of these things can mess with the human mind and emotions….

How can we keep our emotions from taking over the logical side when we have to rely on our emotions when dealing with the people that we love. We don’t necessarily have to know why we love them the way that we do, with such fire and passion, we simply do, because our emotions are so over powering that they can’t be ignored by the logical side of things. The same way that they can’t be ignored when they have been damaged or knocked down so hard that they are out of breath for the moment.

I wish we could realize the power that we have on the people around us, the influence that a simple kind word or remembering to call to say hello, give a hug or a smile, or say “I love you” to that one person…..that can mean a lot to someone who loves and trusts you, and/or someone who respects you.

Treasures of the heart, breathe in soft and strong,

Clear and smooth they glide into your soul.

Crystals glisten from the depths of inside

Shining through your eyes, bright and clear.

The happiness, laughter, and most of all love.

The treasures….The things that bring you to life…that make you shine

The things that make life worth living.

Things that make you brighten no matter how hard life is at the moment

No matter what kind of day you have had…these are the things of importance.

The things we should remember, always.

What is life without the love and comfort of someone close to your soul?

Someone who’s love you can feel and breathe?

The person who completes your thoughts, laughs with you, and loves you?

These are the treasures too quickly forgotten.

I wish we could all slow down and remember the things that really matter in life…the little things that sometimes get taken for granted. Sometimes we deserve to take some time off from work and all of the every day stresses to just simply enjoy the gifts of love and friendship….the gifts of nature’s beauty, and the time we are allowed to spend in it all. I think that as the younger generations continually get use to instant gratification, the things that really make life worth living are being left behind…first children today are losing the appreciation of hard work and responsibility….what will it be next? I wish we our society pressed upon everyone the true treasures of the heart instead of material goods and casual sex appeal. I wish we could tell them that there is more to life than fitting in…I wonder if these are things a person needs to learn for themselves as they grow up….or if society really could change the goals of our youth if they pressed things in the media other than what they do now. I have to believe that the media is very effective in making young people think about certain things…thinking some things are more important than others. I just hope that in the process of growing up the younger generations will figure out their own set of priorities instead of the ones that people and the media set up for them. I hope they are able to find the true treasures of the heart.

Some people think of a dream as a life goal, like the American Dream, which is a lie, but I’ll save that for another time. Some people are so set on what they want to do in this world that they focus all their energy on achieving it. For some people it’s simply finding someone to share their life with and love and be loved…for others it’s a career choice, some business adventure that they have always “dreamed” of having.

A brief glimpse of happiness

A feeling of soaring above all else

feelings of passion and love

drive you to the end

Held in security for a brief time

The warm embrace of being wanted

Not wanting the warmth to stop

Not wanting the feeling of love and ecstasy to walk away

The evening comes and darkness closes in

The life you’ve known for the past few hours fades

Reality sets back in but the passion and love stay with you

The complications weave back into view,

but the passion and love make them seem less important than before.

Love and passion, the Feelings you can’t be rid of

The connection between the two can’t be denied.

Emotions stay even when your glimpse is over

Until you meet again you hang onto the truths of your heart.

What is love?

Is it hanging on, or letting go?

Is it deciding, or going with the flow?

Should we look for it, or let it come?

Is it all passion, or will there be hurt and fun?

How do we know when it’s come?

And how do we keep it once we have it?

Love is a large question, linking your heart, mind, soul, and life with another person. If you fall in love, you will be changed. It’s one of those things that cannot be undone, you can not wish it away, and it will always be there, even if you have to move on. If you are lucky enough to stay with the one you love, your life will always be intertwined with another. I hope we can all find our love and keep it close to our hearts.
