Good for the soul
As it rings out clear and true
From the heart
Shining through the eyes
As the smile turns into a joyful sound
Feeling sad, it lifts the spirits
Of you and those around you
Hearing the simply sound has a magic to it
One that can’t be replaced in the heart
And can heal many ailments
Something you need in life
Even the sternest of souls have to crack
Everyone has their point
You laugh so you don’t cry
You laugh to be heard
You laugh to be happy

Moving through life with the sting of the stare
Always seeing, always wondering, what’s behind the whisper
The noisy confusion of the whispered gossip that blares out from behind closed doors
The static that surrounds you as you move in closer to listen, convincing yourself you don’t care
You keep on walking, Keep on moving so that nothing can catch up
Traveling over bridges built just to be burned, explosions of the mind deafening the bruises that glisten on the skin
Leaving destruction in your wake as you move through this life
Not knowing where you are going or when it will end
You keep on moving, avoiding what you cannot understand
The blend of people mingling all around you and yet not one of them sincere
Deceit the tool of their survival as they mold to fit the status quo
Fitting the latest movement of their life, no matter what it means for the mountains that fall on top of you
As you run, shuffle, crawl, forge, and sprint ahead trying to escape what will always be there
Moving through the life that was once dead
The tears that you bled, only create the next river that needs to be crossed
Setting up the scene for the next bridge to be built
The next relationship formed,
Keep on moving, no one will stop for you, no one moving aside, only merging
Once in awhile you’ll catch a waiting hand to help pull you up
But once you’re up you need to continue to move through the tough and the rough

Happy times remembered with a guilty conscience as you see the suffering all around
You see the struggles and listen to the pain in the cries and the screams
And yet you got lucky and had the good life, the one that everyone wanted
The happenings still alive in your memory, “the good times”
The one stretch of life where nothing could go wrong or knock you sideways
You remember all of the good times and happy hugs and kisses
The memories of holidays and wishes coming true, a smile on your face
Then remember you got the things that you wanted while others went without
Those thoughts now bring guilt onto the mind and heart
Every wish that was granted stings with selfishness
Every present that was opened feels the weight of denial now
To have so much and give so little should be wrong but felt so right
Torn ……not able to determine what is real and what is emotion run wild, you fight off thought and attempts at logic
Hiding in the black recesses of your mind, away from twisted logic that is coerced by overbearing emotions
Moving forward, sad that you can’t share in the happiness you once had
Now only able to provide for yourself and think about survival
The survival you didn’t know was a game that was played behind your back
Your parents the players and you the unaware audience
Played over your head where the words couldn’t reach you in a code unbreakable
Sheltered and kept safe in the world that is created for you and around you
Never knowing that there was something more until you had to grow up
Now there is a whole new world that you need to explore with a blindfold on
Never knowing what is going on in this place that you have rented in the world
Traveling down roads that lead to sweet new discoveries, or to dead ends,
Never knowing which until you arrive, the only way to solve the puzzle is to keep on guessing
Always looking around the corner, not able to see through the trees
Watching as the colors change and steps get closer to the cliff
The outcome still unknown but seems to be a light, a general goal is finally set
The finish line can’t be far beyond, as you hope that one day you’ll be creating the protective world around another
The protective bubble, you can only hope the happiness comes without the price
No overbearing guilt in the next generation, but only appreciation and joy
Nothing taken for granted but never left wanting in the cold, waiting for things to go right
Now only wanting something better, to give something more to those who come next into the unforeseen world.

The thrill of a new experience, the excitement of the build up and anticipation
Leave you wondering what will happen next, all the possibilities race through your mind before you have time to latch onto one of those threads
A sense of trust and wonder overwhelm all other senses as you make your way through the moment
Fumbling through, absorbing everything into the whole body
Feelings and emotions flowing through the passion of love and pure elation
The warmth of the other half of your soul found in the body next to yours
Evidence of the mutual passionate bliss in their eyes, mind, body, and heart
Glowing radiation of the new experience shared and enjoyed
A memory that cannot be erased or forgotten
Something to replay in the recesses of the mind
Something to give power and strength as you are reminded of the love and passion
Reality blurred into the wondrous fabrication of peaceful passion

Living, Breathing…but not thinking or feeling
Pull the string and watch them say the programed phrases
Keep on watching as they march across the room
Living on in the program of society
Not able to change the ones and zeroes that surround us
Watching them makes you sad
You check the reflection of your mind
Not watching to turn into plastic
Not wanting to turn into something fake
Not willing to give up the emotions of life
The hurt and the frustration are traded for love and happiness
Tears of joy replace those of saddness
Giving up the pain isn’t worth giving up the power of thought
The power of knowledge and experience
The love and life that you would miss out on

If you had to choose one picture to sum up your entire life, would you be able to do it? Would you be able to choose one for even a day? Would it be an image with you in it, of an object, a loved one? Would it be of laughter or of silence?
How would you sum up a day that takes you on an emotional roller coaster? Up and down, all day long, happy moments, fun moments, sad moments, angry moments, annoyed moments, back to cheerful and loving, or hot and sexy, and then back to disappointment or frustration….
Is there a way to describe a life that is open to all emotions and possibilities in something as short as a photo? What would your photo contain? What would a glimpse into your life look like? How long or short would it need to be in order to fully grasp the summary of your life? Is it better or worse that the filmstrip would be short? Less complications, but less explorations….Less hurt, but less love….Would it be better if the film was longer…or would it be better just to live snapshot to snapshot, never worrying about the whole picture?

It’s the pleasant little surprises, getting an invitation, feeling loved, some little nice, sweet gesture that just came out of no where that really just make you feel good and help you to let go of all of those unwanted feelings that have been clinging on because of the happenings that life brings to your door.
Sometimes surprises are not so good, but the ones that come up naturally from a loved one seem to really improve on any situation. The smallest of sweet gestures can make you really take a deep breath and just enjoy an evening, or bring a smile to your lips every time you think about it.
Sometimes just know you are loved is enough, and other times it’s the little surprises that just remind you that life can be good and there is such a thing as happiness…and most importantly, that happiness is not out of your reach and it is not too good for you…

Every day leads to the unknown, even the best laid plans can become a jumbled mess of chaos. Sometimes there are some moments that lead to ecstatic surprises that fill you with happiness and joy; then there are the moments with the unpleasant surprises that just lead to frustration and confusion…and leave you waiting for the next step to come your way. Sometimes there is no way of knowing what will come next. The world is made of wavering paths that we just do our best to keep balance on the wavering and ever changing roads that we find ourselves on.
Always running just to try and get a step ahead, but never knowing where that step will and, you could step on a gold mine, or into a hole of nothingness and then have to climb just to get back up on your feet.
Life is always full of the unknown, some of it good, some of it not so much…but we can’t do much except continue on and hope for the best. Hope that eventually the bad will even out with the good and things will fall into place. That plan that you’ve created in your mind for so long, and maybe you’ll be left to be happy, and maybe just a little less struggle will come your way, maybe just a little less of wobbly roads, and maybe something just a little more solid to stand on.

It’s amazing how you get so caught up in certain things that you don’t know where the time goes…pieces of your life…spaces of time that just seem to disappear, sometimes when you’re caught up in the stress of things, sometimes it’s because you’re relaxing in the moment or just hanging out with the people that you care about…having fun. Sometimes you can remember every little detail, other times you sit there and have to wonder what you did for that many hours…because it seems like only a few minutes went by.
I think it’s kind of crazy how we have let ourselves get so wrapped up in things that we spend most of our life being worried about what comes next on the schedule…where does the plan go from here? I think that a lot more people would be happier if they just let things go as they will….
Now, I understand that you have to plan certain things out, or live in a constant state of chaos, but sometimes, the schedule should be the last thing that you are thinking about. Sometimes living in the moment is all that matters, because those moments will be the details that you remember, and you will regret passing them by just to keep up with some imaginary time table that you made up one day over a cup of coffee…

Vines slowly creeping up
Time getting away from you
Time passes if you are ready or not
The flowers bloom and die
Coming again the next year round
Covering and taking over
Unit the exits are blocked
The beauty that has to be cut away for the escape
A torturous adventure having emotions torn in two
Going forward to go out, or being trapped by the beauty
Moving along inside the comfort of the walls
The flowers of the season
The light of the days
Quickly fading inside the beauty
That takes over from the outside
Quickly covering all in sight
